But since most people today don\u2019t add www, we want it to also work if someone just types your domain name without the www. So we\u2019re going to forward the non-www version of your domain with www. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">So next, go to redirect. Choose 301, select your domain, then enter your domain with www. in  front in the \u201credirects to\u201d box. Log into your Done Deal Website account and scroll  down till you see on the side menu \u2018Tools\u2019 hover over that and click on  \u2018Domain Mapping\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apartmentinvestorpro.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-05-at-1.05.54-PM.png\" alt=\"domain mapping tools in WP dashbaord\" class=\"wp-image-500\" width=\"321\" height=\"301\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Once you\u2019re redirected add Your domain to the \u2018Map new domain name\u2019 Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apartmentinvestorpro.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-05-at-1.08.46-PM-1024x572.png\" alt=\"Adding your domain name\" class=\"wp-image-501\" width=\"512\" height=\"286\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apartmentinvestorpro.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-05-at-1.44.51-PM-1024x221.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-504\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">What you\u2019ll also want to do is click the Star icon under \u2018Actions\u2019  for the domain you just added. This will make it the primary domain.  Otherwise, it will use your Done Deal Website URL as the primary  and will  affect your sitemap. What does this mean? Well if you are  concerned about SEO, it\u2019ll make a difference because all of the URLs in  your sitemap will show as your Done Deal Website domain name if you  don\u2019t change your primary domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\"><strong>IMPORTANT: Include the \u2018www\u2019. You may not have any domain in  the list above unlike the picture above. Whether you only have 1 or  multiple, make sure to select \u2018Directed to mapped (primary) domain\u2019 for  Your new domain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6: Request SSL Certificate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The last thing you\u2019ll want to do is set up an SSL certificate. What is an SSL certificate? An SSL certificate makes your website more secure. It also puts the little \u201csecure\u201d lock icon in your web browser when you visit your site. Having an SSL certificate can help people to trust your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">This last step however, you cannot do yourself. You\u2019ll need to <a href=\"http:\/\/donedealwebsite.com\/support\/ssl-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submit a request for an SSL Certificate<\/a> to Apartment Investor Pro support.
