First off, make sure you followed the instructions carefully.\u00a0 Double check the settings you entered.\u00a0 If any step isn’t followed correctly there will be problems.<\/p>\n

Within your Done Deal Website account, be sure that your domain name has “www” in front of it.\u00a0 Also make sure it’s all lower-case letters and that there are no spaces or other characters.<\/p>\n

If everything looks OK there, double check your settings at your domain registrar (for example, GoDaddy or NameCheap) compared to the instructions.\u00a0 Make sure you didn’t miss anything.\u00a0 Don’t change things if it looks right.\u00a0 It doesn’t mean you did something wrong.\u00a0 You may just need to wait a little longer.<\/p>\n

If everything looks right, how long has it been since you made the changes?\u00a0 If it was less than an hour ago, it’s best to give it a little more time.\u00a0 Changing settings with your domain name can take a while to fully take effect.\u00a0 I fact, in some cases it may take up to 24 hours to fully take effect.\u00a0 Usually it happens much faster, though.<\/p>\n

If it’s been more than an hour since you made the changes, it’s possible you did everything correctly but your web browser has the old settings cached (saved) and it’s not showing your changes.\u00a0 One way to test this is to open an Incognito \/ Private browser window and try visiting your site that way.\u00a0 If it works this way, then everything is good to go.\u00a0 If you close your browser completely and wait a minute and then re-open it, everything should be good.\u00a0 If not, try restarting your computer and test again.<\/p>\n

Another option is to use a site called Geo Peeker<\/a> that lets you put in your website address and it tries loading your site from different locations.\u00a0 This will give you a better idea of what other are people are seeing when they try visiting your site.\u00a0 Sometimes your own computer can show you something different than what other people are seeing just because you tried visiting your site previously and it’s showing you the old settings.\u00a0 Geo Peeker lets you see what everyone else is seeing.\u00a0 Just go to Geo Peeker’s website<\/a> and enter your website address and click the button.\u00a0 Give it a minute and it will pull up your site from different locations.\u00a0 If it looks right there, everything should be good.\u00a0 It’s just an issue with your computer.\u00a0 If you restart it, everything will likely be OK.<\/p>\n

If you try those things and it’s still not right, there must be a setting somewhere that isn’t right.\u00a0 Most likely it’s a setting where you registered your domain name (for example, GoDaddy or Name Cheap).\u00a0 We’d be glad to check it out for you for free.<\/p>\n
